Electrolysis is the only method of hair removal that has been approved by the British Medical Council as being permanent. It can be used to permanently remove any hair colour, facial or body, regardless of skin tone.
Electrolysis is also safe and effective at removing hairs from moles.
At Aivilo, there are three methods of electrolysis available, blend, diathermy and galvanic. The most suitable method will be selected for the client.
How does it work?
Electrolysis involves the insertion of a very fine, disposable, sterile probe into the hair follicle. Damage to the follicle will be caused by heat (if using diathermy) or a chemical reaction (if using galvanic or blend).
Is the treatment painful?
The very latest digital technology is used to carry out the three methods of electrolysis available. Nicholas skill and the technology used ensures that the sensation experienced during treatment is much more comfortable.
How many treatments will I need?
The amount of hair you have and where you would like treating will determine the frequency and duration of your sessions. Treatments will be frequent to start in order to permanently treat the exisiting hair. The number of treatments required following clearance will become significantly reduced as less hair will present in subsequent hair growth cycles. Timescales will be discussed in more detail at consultation but as a guide it can take 12 to 18 months for all growth cycles on an area such as female face.
Preparation for electrolysis treatments
If you are removing the hair by methods such as plucking, threading, waxing, epilating – please stop. Trim or shave the area to manage growth but ensure that you grow the hair to just under 0.5cm for every appointment. You may keep hair short inbetween treatments.
Please notify Nichola of any medical conditions or any issue with skin healing. Also if you are using AHA, BHA e.g glycolic acid, lactic acid and retin A products in the treatment area, please stop whilst having electrolysis treatments.
Electrolysis prices
Prices start from £30.00 per 15 minute treatment. For a personalised treatment plan and pricing structure please call our Rodney Street clinic on 0151 706 7908 or Wallasey Grove Road Clinic on 07736 468571 to book an appointment.
Cancellation of appointments
This strict policy has been implemented due to an increasing problem with last minute cancellations. Three working days notice must be give to cancel or re-arrange appointments. If the appointment is longer than 45 minutes then four days notice must be given. In order for another client to be in a position to take a cancelled appointment they will need sufficient time to grow their hair. Quite often 48 hours is not enough. Failure to give sufficient notice may result in charges.
